Kombucha originated in Northeast China, likely in the Bohai Sea district, around 220 B.C. It was first mentioned in ancient Chinese texts, such as the Records of the Three Kingdoms, where it was described as a "divine tea" with medicinal properties.
Kombucha is a fermented tea made from sweetened tea and a culture of yeast and bacteria. It's often flavored with fruit, honey, or sugar and contains vitamins, trace minerals, antioxidants, and probiotics.
In this class, you’ll learn more about kombucha and where it comes from, and how to make the tea perpetually for yourself. Participants should bring a glass jar with a tight fitting lid.
